Globally renowned Telugu expatriate Venkappa Bhagavatula won the “South Icon (Andhra Pradesh)” award at the prestigious “South Indian Global Talent Achievers (SIGTA) Awards 2024” ceremony held in Qatar. The award was given in recognition of his exceptional contribution, inspirational leadership, distinguished talent and services to the Telugu community in Qatar and the Indian community.
The “South Icon Award” is the highest honor bestowed by the SIGTA program. The award is presented to expatriates who have made revolutionary contributions in preserving and promoting the cultural heritage and moral values of their homeland while living abroad. The grand ceremony held at the world-famous AL MAYASA Theater (QNCC) in Qatar was attended by over 2,500 spectators. The event was attended by dignitaries from the Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu film industries, as well as eminent personalities from the business, entertainment, cultural, service and social sectors, who expressed their congratulations and paid tribute to this work.
Venkappa Bhagavatula garu was selected for this prestigious award for his extraordinary contribution to the Telugu language, arts, cultural heritage and social services not only in Qatar but also internationally, and received praise and congratulations from all.
